An air conditioning system must remain sealed at all times. This means that ALL components from compressor to hoses and everything in between must remain sealed. If the system is exposed to the atmosphere at any time then by Federal Standards, the refrigerant must be captured and not permitted to escape into the atmosphere.
Any leak can create a loss of refrigerant impacting your A/C's peak performance. Leaks can also allow moisture to enter the system. Although moisture is nice in the desert, it is an enemy to the A/C system. Moisture contains contaminants which will cause internal damage and corrosion.
Detecting a leak may sound simple enough but leaks can occur in the most hard-to-find locations. It often requires dash removal and, if rear A/C, even greater effort.
Then there is the compressor failure. If a compressor "grenades" it will send small metal shards into the system which will require a complete A/C overhaul. The entire system requires cleaning or "flushing" to remove debris. Any and all components that cannot be flushed will need to be replaced.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Have you ever thought about all of the nasty contaminants that gather inside your car's ducting system? Millions of micro-organisms and bacteria accumulate over time so when you turn on your heat or A/C these invisible little creatures end up inside your car! Sometimes you can smell it, sometimes you can't. Nasty thought isn't it?
This situation is not good for anyone even in the best of health. Do you or anyone you know suffer from allergies or depend on occasional oxygen use? What about newborns and pets? Do you really want your loved ones breathing in this NASTY cabin air?
So what can you do to help alleviate the problem in your vents? We have the solution!
MiST is a pollutant reducing process offered in Tucson exclusively at Arizona Auto Refrigeration.
WHY IS IT SUCH A PROBLEM TODAY?
Efficient HVAC systems. Modern HVAC systems trap more moisture than in the past. This creates a habitat for mold, mildew, bacteria and other micro-organisms to grow. To maintain cabin temperatures, these efficient systems require a larger percentage of air to be re-circulated causing the harmful mold spores to be regularly blown into the passenger cabin and colonize anywhere moisture collects.
THE SOLUTION! Offered in Tucson exclusively at Arizona Auto Refrigeration
MiST™ kills mold on contact and prevents new mold growth throughout the vehicle's HVAC system and passenger cabin surfaces. Mist is an award winning technology aimed at the health of the driver and occupants, not the vehicle.
WHAT MAKES THE SYSTEM SO EFFECTIVE?
Nano-droplets get to the source of the problem. They are drawn into the vehicle's ventilation system and travel through the re-circulation intake, penetrating and treating the entire ventilation system including the evaporator, heater core, air ducts and passenger cabin surfaces.
Bring your vehicle in today for a MiST service for only $67.00. Service takes approximately 1 hour.

We are experienced at servicing hybrid cars and trucks. Much of the equipment and features are similar to those in non-hybrid vehicles but there are notable differences.
Generally, the cooling fans for the condenser are in front of the engine. The controls, cabin air filters, blower motor, refrigerant filter, expansion valve, evaporator, and condenser are not specifically different in hybrids.
The primary difference in hybrid vehicle air conditioning service comes down to the electrically driven compressors and the purity of the refrigerant.
Most hybrids have electrically driven compressors operated with high voltage. In order to maintain the integrity of the high voltage system, the lubricating oil, refrigerant and any additives, such as leak detection dye must be non-conductive. They need to meet a different industry standard than the same products used in non-hybrid vehicles.
Working on and around high voltage components requires additional safety precautions and proper equipment. We take the safety of our technicians and damage prevention to any vehicle in our care very seriously.
Please do call ahead for an appointment when bringing a hybrid vehicle to us for service or repairs.

We replace heater cores, heater valves, blower motors, thermostats and more.
Did you know that heater and air conditioning repair are related and work with each other when your car is running? So how does this actually work?
External air is forced through the air conditioner’s evaporator coil. Think of evaporator coil as a heater core filled with very cold gas which cools rather than heats the incoming air. In order to obtain the desired internal temperature, incoming air is first cooled by the air conditioning system then heated by the heater core.
A heater core is a small radiator located under the dashboard of the vehicle. It consists of conductive aluminum or brass tubing with cooling fins to increase surface area. Hot coolant passing through the heater core gives off heat before returning to the engine cooling circuit.
In a vehicle fitted with manual controls for both the heater and air conditioner, using the systems together will dehumidify the air in the cabin. The evaporator coil removes moisture from the air caused by condensation. This results in increased air comfort levels inside the vehicle.
On all heater repairs we also perform a quality check on your air conditioning system to ensure everything is working properly. Remember it takes both systems working together to keep you driving in comfort.
